Open Door Celebrates National Nutrition Month in Sleepy Hollow

On Thursday, March 7, Open Door celebrated National Nutrition Month and this year’s theme of “Beyond the Table” with a live cooking demonstration at our Sleepy Hollow site. Our WIC staff, who are Registered Dietitian Nutritionists cooked a delicious, nutritious vegetable stir fry for attendees to enjoy.

We thank our staff and participants who helped make this a successful event. We also extend our gratitude to MVP Health Care for providing kitchen tools to attendees and coloring pages for the children, and Down to Earth Markets, who donated the fresh produce used for the recipe.

While March is National Nutrition Month, it is also National Reading Month. We celebrated this important observance by distributing books during the event, which were generously donated by United Way of Westchester and Putnam.
